Booker 2013 long list - any predictions?

The longlist for the 2013 Man Booker Prize will be announced next Tuesday (July 23). It's the first of the four stages in the annual award which will culminate in the announcement of the winner on October 15.

Five judges have worked their way through a reading list of more than 130 novels since the end of last year. They'll have whittled down that list to around 12 titles all written by authors who are citizens of the Commonwealth, Republic of Ireland or Zimbabwe. Only titles published between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013 are eligible.

What will they have selected? Does anyone have a prediction what we might see in the list on Tuesday? There's a long list of contenders published in the oddly-named Mookseandgripes forum

I have a feeling that we could see Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi make an appearance with Americanah which was published in April.

Anyone want to join me in speculating......

By the way, did know that this year mark's the 45th anniversary of the prize?
